About the producer:

Homer Alarcon Gayoso, 46, is a second-generation coffee producer. Born in the community of San Lorenzo, in the district of San José del Alto, Cajamarca, he lives with his wife and their three children.

He has been a coffee producer since the age of 18 and now owns his own farm (Parcela el Cedrillo) on 5 hectares of land, at an altitude of over 1,800 meters in the mountains. In 2006, he joined the Sol & Café producers' association, with which Bivouac has worked for 14 years.

Part of its production is devoted to the demanding cultivation of the Geisha variety, a world-renowned coffee tree prized for its exceptional aromatic characteristics.

Geisha beans often exhibit aromas of jasmine, bergamot, tropical fruits, and a lively yet well-balanced acidity. The shrub requires specific conditions to thrive, such as high altitude and rich soil.

Its unique organoleptic profile and complexity make it a sought-after coffee among coffee enthusiasts and professionals.

"David, our roaster at Bivouac, was captivated by this Geisha variety coffee with its subtle notes of coconut!"
