The traditional and timeless chrome "moka pot" is found in many people's wardrobes or camping accessories! It brews a very rich and full-bodied espresso-style coffee, in addition to releasing a comforting aroma that becomes a favorite.
A few tips for getting a better cup of coffee with this coffee maker: first, choose one made of stainless steel rather than aluminum, and be sure to remove it from the stovetop when it starts to brew to avoid a burnt taste!
- Fill the reservoir (the bottom of the coffee maker) with water (using pre-boiled water can help speed up the process!)
- Fill the coffee filter with 30g of espresso-grade coffee (for 300ml of water) or slightly coarser than standard espresso grounds.
- Distribute the ground coffee evenly by tapping it lightly on a flat surface.
- Screw on the coffee maker and place it on a stovetop over medium heat.
- Let the water boil and the coffee begin to circulate between the chambers.
- After about 5 minutes, remove from the heat when the coffee begins to splatter and you hear the brewing speed increase.
