After more than 10 years in operation, Mélanie Gagné, owner of LpB - La p'tite Brûlerie, has decided, after much reflection, to divest herself of the café-boutique in Deschambault to concentrate all her energies on the organic coffee roasting business.
It was essential for Mélanie that the village's catering business be taken over by someone with values similar to her own, and who would ensure its continuity, while continuing to serve and sell the delicious LpB - La p'tite Brûlerie coffee beans.
That's why we're delighted to announce a new project for February 2022 in the ancestral home on rue de l'Église in Deschambault: La Dinette du Cap.
The new owner, Étienne McKinnon, is a creative and experienced entrepreneur with a background in the Quebec City restaurant business (formerly a partner in the restaurant Sardines). Together with his wife Alexandra Fiset (co-owner of the La Baigneuse market garden and flower farm in Deschambault), they have chosen to establish themselves in the village and take over the café-boutique and enhance its offering, which will please an ever-growing clientele, particularly in the summer months. In addition to continuing to serve and sell La p'tite Brûlerie's coffee, Étienne will gradually transform the premises to integrate a kitchen and serve food and alcoholic beverages.
The coffee roasting business, which will continue to be called LpB - La p'tite Brûlerie, is as vibrant as ever, and so is the passion owner Mélanie Gagné and her team have for their work. The roasting workshop in Saint-Basile, the online boutique and the distribution network in restaurants and grocery stores across Quebec remain. There are no changes to these commercial activities, which will continue as they are, except that the team will have even more energy and time to meet the demands of coffee lovers.
La p'tite Brûlerie will continue to be present in the region as an agri-food business, to get involved in the community with its partners, and to serve and sell coffee at local events such as the Marché public in Deschambault.
All coffee outlets in the region will continue to be served, and you'll still be able to buy La p'tite Brûlerie coffee in the village of Deschambault via the Magasin Général and Dinette du Cap.
Mélanie would like to personally thank all the customers, friends and loyal clientele she has built up over the years, and she invites you to continue visiting this very special and unique place, the Salle des habitants on rue de l'Église, and hopes to see you there!
