Comment faire du café infusé à froid (cold brew) à la maison!

How to make coldbrew at home!

In the middle of a heatwave, there's absolutely NOTHING in the WORLD more refreshing than an iced coffee!

In our opinion, the discovery of the cold-brew method has completely revolutionized the world of iced coffees (bye-bye iced cappuccino!). Rather than preparing an extraction of hot coffee and chilling it in the fridge, this method slowly infuses ground coffee with cold water over several hours. The result is delicious and fascinating: the natural sugars in the coffee are enhanced by the slow infusion, a refreshing acidity emerges and the mouthfeel is similar to that of iced tea.

And it's so easy to prepare! All you need is a container with a filter, and coffee with a grind similar to that of a piston coffee maker (similar in size to raw sugar).

*By the way, our Canicule summer blend (available HERE) has been specially designed to make the perfect cold-brew coffee!

Recipe:

1- Pour 150-170g of coarsely ground coffee into a plunger coffee maker or any glass container (with a capacity of one liter).

2- Add 800ml-1l of cold water, stir, then leave to infuse in a cool place for 12 to 16 hours (overnight is ideal).

3- Filter (with the plunger or a paper filter) to remove the ground coffee and obtain the concentrated liquid.

4- Cover and refrigerate (keeps for up to 2 weeks).

5- Serve on the rocks, diluting with milk or cold water to taste.

*The result of this recipe is a concentrated liquid that must be diluted at least 1:1 (1 part cold brew to 1 equal part water or milk), otherwise you risk palpitations due to the long infusion!
